CoolVu's Hawaii Raffle leads to a SHOCKING twist for Donnie Dixon...

A Day in the Bay Fundraiser, acts of pure generosity

When the tinting community found out that Donnie Dixon, a fellow window tinter and film artist, had a rare form of cancer so many individuals and companies jumped on board to help in any way that they could. One of the companies that showed no hesitation to help was CoolVu.

CoolVu organized an amazing and generous getaway raffle named “Day in the Bay”  for two that included round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, a rental car, and a full day tour around the north shore with excursions and activities on the island. This also included a tour around CoolVu’s Hawaii Dealer, Tommy Silva’s shop named T&T Tinting Specialists.

This raffle was advertised in a variety of ways, such as email, broadcast and social media. Entries were sold for $20 each or $50 for 3 entries, with all ticket sale proceeds going to Donnie Dixon’s medical expenses fund. “Day in the Bay '' was also promoted in person at Orlando, Florida’s International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off (WFTC) and Tintertainment’s Tinter Battles in Houston, Texas.

The lucky winner of the getaway raffle was chosen at random by Bob Bruder, CoolVu Distributor for Arkansas and owner of American Window Tinting during the first day of Tinter Battles in Houston. The fortunate winner of this vacation was Jesus “Jesse” Izabal from Face Window Tinting in Los Angeles, California.

During a live interview of “Be Plus All Things Window Film” podcast Jesse found out he was the winner of “Day in the Bay”, and in a very benevolent and surprising turn of events, he decided to gift the vacation to Donnie Dixon and his wife. Jeff Franson, CoolVu President, caught wind of this act of kindness and decided to gift not one, but two vacations, one for the Dixon’s and another for the Izabal’s. Franson states, “I was so amazed at Jesse’s generosity I decided to cover the expense of two vacations. I want to make sure that both the Izabal’s and Dixon’s have the opportunity to enjoy Hawaii”. Jeff Franson also adds by saying “Thank you to everyone who participated in the fundraiser, with a special thank you to Tommy Silva, owner of T & T Tinting Specialists, for helping us coordinate the “Day in the Bay” experience.”

Bob Bruder believes that this event has inspired so many in the window film industry to continue to help and uplift one another through kindness. With the help of Be Plus All Things Window Film Podcast, Tintertainment, Texas Tint Masters, Carlos Olazaba, and Erik Devash with Tint Wiz -- the community can keep spreading their message about benevolence and unification one act of kindness at a time.
